Ornaments and other paraphernalia normally associated with the idols at temples were removed and puja was performed before and after the eclipse. People had bath after the eclipse ended at 12.49 am before having food.

Hotels reported steep fall in number of visitors since Monday evening because of eclipse and some hotels closed early. Movement of people also was less.
