  • Dubai, May 17: Mogaveera UAE Celebrates Talents day for the first time in Karama Center on 16 May 2008.

    The traditional lighting of the lamp with a prayer. The guest present on the stage for the lighting the lamp were Parmeshwar Kotian, Vaman Kotian, Ajith Suvarna, L V Puthran, and Sanjeev the visiting MVM guests were given a floral welcome by Chandrashekar Salian. The Mogaveera President, Lokesh Puthran  welcome the gathering which was followed by a feast of dazzling dances, songs and skits  by various members and their children which was appreciated by all those present.  What followed  was the most interesting part of the day with the fancy dress competition for age groups upto 15 years.  It was time for the cooking competition where an array of mouth watering dishes which made the judges task difficult to decide. First prize was won by Divya S. Surathkal for turetha paysa, second by Neetha Lokesh Puthran for maanji stuff and third prize won by Surekha Suvarna for Yetti Sukkha. 
     
    The visiting MVM members then made a presentation about their plans and activities to the benefit of the local mogaveera community.  There was a brief ceremony to present mementoes and the various guests were honoured.
     
    A demonstration of the grand project to be built in Mumbai and Surathkal named vision 2010 was  presented and donations to build these prominent buildings to provide education for the mogaveera community was hailed.  Starting with the president, many members enriched the funds by their volunteered donations.


























    After a lavish lunch, it was time for more entertainment with a duet from Shreya and Simran followed by a dance (Your are my love) from Simran Kunder.  A very interesting skit named loan application was appreciated by all those present.  This was followed by the fancy dress competition for members above 15 years and the prize distribution. Fancy dress competition was won by Deepak & fly deservedly where they had dressed as real beggars. 
     
    The attraction of the show was the Panjurli Kola show by Hemanth and company, where the traditional dresses and dances performed with pitch of voice from Tulunadu.
     
     The draw for the lucky mogaveera of the day was held and followed by the bumper draw for the raffle prizes.
     
    At the end of the programmed all the dignitaries attended including the members of MVM were felicitated.
     
     An exciting with almost every single members taking part in the day's entertainment and contributing to the success of the day.  The visiting guests were appreciative of the entire day's activities and praised the committee for the grand function.
     
    Yadav Kotian conveyed vote of thanks.
     
    Fancy Dress and cookery competition was held for various age groups and a large number of participants participated in these competitions.

Salian and the entire managing committee for the wonderful show that too coinciding with the first ever Mogaveera delegation going overseas. I had the privilege of attending the Pooja ceremony organized by you last month in Dubai and I enjoyed every moment of it.       I came along with a delegation from Mumbai for the event and was delightfully surprised at d reception we got.I enjoyed every bit of d event,the most encouraging part being d involvement and d enthusiasm of the people. Prod 2 b a Mogaveer!!!

      When I was studying in Surathkal, I had many Mogaveera friends. They were good hearted and very honest and always very friendly. This community need help from Mogaveera NRI's mainly for the poor students for their education. Well done UAE Mogaveera's. Keep it up.
