Dubai, May 16: The day saw parishioners of Belman celebrating their annual feast-‘Vodlen Fest’ at Al Mas Hotel Apartments with much merry and pomp. The event which is celebrated once a year is for the benefit of the parishioners of Belman to meet and greet each other in the otherwise busy UAE.
The program began as scheduled and was given a fitting introduction by the Master of the Ceremonies for the day Walter Monteiro with some delightful quotes. After a meaningful prayer ceremony, President Jacob Lobo welcomed the parishioners and guests, and outlined various agendas for the year. As promised the day was going to be the one to be remembered and the organizers delivered the same.
The crowd was flabbergasted with some fantastic dances performed by Delvina, Gavin, Seema and Senora. And I must say that these performers are filled with immense talents. The crowd also had a run for their grey cells by the tricky one liner questions posed by the MC. There were games conducted for the people of all ages which kept the crowd engaged to the proceedings. Children who had received their holy communion were honored at the function.
The highlight for the day although was the honoring the businessmen and businesswomen in UAE from Belman. These are the individuals who have taken the risk to set up business in the UAE and have been successful in their endeavors. These people were honored by Dayan D’Souza, who urged that the society requires more entrepreneurs like these who provide employment to others. Bethkati committee also honored Well-known Pressy Teacher who has taught thousands of kids at school in Belman.
Other highlights of the event were the games conducted by Gloria for children, singing by Robert etc. A four course menu was set up and had the crowd delighted. A foot tapping music by DJ Austin had the crowd elated. Vice President Shanthi D’silva proposed the vote of thanks. Housie was conducted by Vincent D’mello. The program ended with Baila.
