Saudi Arabia: Police Smash Liquor Factory in Makkah

Makkah, May 19: Authorities shut down a distillery and arrested two men, a Saudi and an African of unknown nationality, for operating the illegal enterprise.

According to Makkah police spokesman Maj. Abdul Muhsin Al-Mayman, police stormed the operation Saturday night and smashed over three tons of liquor in barrels that were ready for distribution.

The two suspects were taken to the police station for more questioning while all equipment inside the clandestine factory were seized. Al-Mayman urged citizens not to hesitate to inform police when they notice any suspicious activities.
