The injured person has been identified as Raviraj (36) who has been serving as convener of Bantwal taluk Hindu Jagaran Vedike. He was running a Xerox shop in B C Road town.

The miscreants hacked him with sabres while he was closing down the shutter of his shop at about 10.15 pm. He sustained serious injuries in his head, back and hands. He was immediately taken to a private hospital at Mangalore.

SP Satheesh Kumar, additional SP Siddaramappa, DySP Dharmaiah, former minister Nagaraj Shetty visited the injured in the hospital.

I am sorry to say that people immdtly come to the conclusion that it is the work of muslims when a Hindu is attacked and vice versa. It is high time to stop such comments and come to a conclusion that a fello citizen is attacked.Let the law take it's own course and the guilty will b punished. pl stop giving communal colour. This country & citizens have faced enough of Hindu & Muslim.Pl live in peace and allow others too live in peace & harmony.

Dear Junaid, I too share your apprehension that anti-social elements will make use of this opportunity to create one more communal tension in our region.Regarding your rest of the comments, I totally disagree to agree with you. First, you said 'ISLAMIC' fundamental groups are responsible for branding Muslim community as terrorists. If any one follows the fundamentals of Islam, there is no scope for any voilence or terrorist activity. Islam never teaches, preaches, propogates or instigates voilence.

Terrorism doesn't have any religion, bad elements are there in every community. I do get hurt when someone uses the phrase "Islamic Terrorism " since I am a Muslim who is trying to practice the fundamentals of Islam and Islam has never taught me anything other than piousness, love and brotherhood.

Second, if any one jumps to anti-social elements do you call them educated? They are just literates, education moulds a persons total behaviour. Again, misguided people are there in every community.

Third, what do you mean by India first and religion next? I am an Indian , I love my India , I am proud of India and at the same time Islam is my faith, it is my way of life. Islam has taught me to love humanity, even beyond the boundaries of India. If you learn the fundamentals of Islam properly, you will love India and the entire world.

It is strange to know the comments. If one Mr. Raviraj has been attacked. Immediately people started talking about fundamentalism.Till now nobody know who are the person who have attacked. If it is a muslim or a hindu. Purpose of attack is for communal rivalry or for personnal matters. Hence people before writing any comments, please wait for the police version. But we as a whole should condemn any act of voilence on any individual eitther he is Muslim or he is a Hindu But he is an Indian.

Dear Junaid, its unfortunate that people come 2 conclusion saying tat these incidents are fuelled by muslim fundamentalist.. but do u have proof to say that. we should leave this matter to police depart ment to assess and find real culprits. It should be done equally and honestly justified

Hope this will not initiate one more communal tension in D.K. Already due to islamic fundamental groups whole of muslim community has been branded as "terrorists" !! Even educated people are also jumping into anti-social activities is an alarming concern!! All the like-minded muslims should remember that they are INDIANs first and religions come next only!! Let us not forget our motherland. Insha Allah
