Mangaluru, Aug 26: Six persons got stuck in the lift at Congress office here on Friday, August 25 and fire brigade was called to rescue them.

The fire brigade office at Pandeshwar received a call in the evening from a person called Prasad saying 6 people were trapped in the lift at the Congress office. The fire brigade personnel rushed immediately to the spot and helped to bring the lift to a floor and opened the lift door.

Overloading was the reason for the problem, a fire brigade official said.

Before the fire brigade arrived, some people had tried to bring the lift to a floor by using iron rods. The people who were stuck in the lift were panicking with fear, it is gathered.

Sanjeeva, Suresh Shetty, Satish Sriyan, Uttarayana and Deepak Subhash were the personnel from fire brigade who participated in the rescue operation. Police personnel from Kadri police station too had arrived to help.
