Kuwait: KCWA holds general body meeting

Kuwait Sep 5: Kuwait Canara Welfare Association (KCWA) held its general body meeting on Friday September 1 at Indian Public School auditorium, Salmiya. The meeting commenced at 6.30 pm with an opening prayer lead by Walter Santhumayor. President Hilary Stevan Rego cordially welcomed the gathering and expressed his gratitude to all the members for their support, love and encouragement.

Various reports were presented and appreciated by all. Rajesh Aranha presented the minutes of the last GBM and Harry Fernandes presented the activity report. Finance, membership and educational fund reports were presented by Anil D’Mello, Sunitha D’Silva and Alwyn Noronha respectively. Anil Fernandes briefed about SAMPADA – KCWA education fund established at Udupi diocese and their functioning. KCWA website and Facebook updates were presented by Allan D’Souza. Cultural and sports activity updates were presented by Orson D’Souza and Hywel Pinto respectively. Monthi Fest preparation updates were presented by Sunitha D’Silva and Jinella Rodrigues. Praveen Menezes conducted lucky draw for the members present at the venue. Justice Mathias was announced lucky winner. Fr Ivan D’Souza, visiting priest from Mangaluru, lauded the charity works of KCWA.



Rinna D’Souza proposed the vote of thanks followed by a closing prayer. Vice president Deepak Andrade was the moderator. Alban D’Souza captured the event through his skills in photography. Allan D’Souza facilitated a power point presentation. Sound system was provided by Anand D’souza. Dinner was served by M & M Confectionary & Caterers. Around 100 members and their families were present.

KCWA managing committee expressed gratitude to their members for attending the GBM in large numbers and for their valuable suggestions. They also thanked the management of IPS Salmiya for providing the auditorium.
