Feasts such as "Monthi Fest" is a historical tradition, specially in Mangalore where the new rice crop is brought to the Parish of our choice for the blessings and thereafter the celebrations begin with lots of traditional hymns, music and much more followed by a grand lunch mostly vegetarian . This is a traditional feast that was celebrated in Mangalore and Goa, and the tradition has now spread all over the world where the Mangaloreans and also the Goans have migrated. Thanks to the Web Site such as Daiji World who have established a strong network of connection all over the world so that traditional feasts such as these are well publicized in a promptly manner. Hundreds of Parishes celebrate the "Monthi Fest" while many of the Parishes take pains to announce their celebrations thru the web sites so that all their family members and friends elsewhere can read the details and share the happiness. This is where the social media plays an important role by sharing all the details of celebrations so punctually and effectively with photographs where we can see the photographs of our beloved churches, the priests, the nuns and many other members of the Parish.Let the customs and traditions of the past continue to prevail, and let people of various communities share the joys in their respective parishes with their counterparts scattered in many parts of the world.Thank you, Daijiworld, for a fantastic job in gathering so much of information and sharing with readers all over the world, including ourselves. Wishing you all a belated Happy Monthi Fest.
