New Delhi, Oct 20 (HT): Kiran Bedi, on Friday, tweeted a video of a woman dancing to a famous Navratri song, mistaking her for PM Narendra Modi’s 97-year-old mother, Hiraben.
It was not long before Twitter called out Bedi’s faux pas, following which she issued an apology. She saluted the woman and hoped to be as active at her age.
The 50-second video shows an old woman, draped in a white saree, dancing to the popular song ‘Indhana Vinvaa Gayi Thi More Saiyan’.
“Spirit of Deepavali at tender age of 97. She’s mother of @narendramodi (Hiraben Modi -1920) celebrating Diwali at her own home????@SadhguruJV,” read the caption accompanying the video.
Bedi’s tweet has been shared 3.5K times and has been liked by 9.9K people.
The Lt governor of Puducherry also tagged spritual guru Sadhguru and PM Modi in her tweet, neither of whom have responded, yet.
The video was actually uploaded on YouTube on October 3 with the title ‘Old woman doing garba dance’.
