Mangalore: Monsoon Loses Intensity

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore (SP)

Mangalore, Jun 25: The monsoon has been weak in the coastal region since the last few days, even though the meteriological department had predicted heavy rains during the last 48 hours. Almost all the regions in the twin districts received intermittent rains, but the total rainfall has been considerably low, giving rise to worries to agriculturists who expect rainfall to be in tune with predictions based on stars ruling the particular period.

Floods have not been reported. Highest rainfall was reported from Agumbe which received seven cms of rainfall. Most places in the district received two cms of rainfall. Farmers have not been able to cultivate fields located on higher altitudes. The meteorological  department has predicted moderate rainfall all over the coastal belt during the next two days.
