Mangalore: Machcha Milar Elected President of Konkani Writers Forum

Mangalore, Jul 13: Former Amcho Yuvak editor, Konkani writer, activist and orator popularly known as 'Machcha Milar' Marcel D'Souza has been elected the president of Konkani Writers Forum Karnataka (R), Mangalore.
The annual general body meeting was held on Sunday July 13 at Samanvaya centre. About 40 members of the forum were present and discussed various issues regarding Konkani literature.
Outgoing president of the forum Dr Edward Nazareth thanked everyone for supporting him during his tenure and expressed satisfaction on the progress of the forum.
Dr Edward and his wife Nelly Nazareth were honoured for his contribution to Konkani literature also congratulated for winning an award recently.
It may be recalled that Dr Edward recently won the Konkani Kutam Bahrain award, presented to him on Saturday July 12 at a programme held in Sandesha.
