Wear white apron and spend a day as doctor, AIIMS doctors write to PM Modi

New Delhi, Dec 24 (Zee News): Members of AIIMS Resident Doctors Association have asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to live their life for one day to understand the amount of stress they take. They have written a letter to the Prime Minister in support of Rajasthan doctors who are protesting for higher pay and promotion.

"We are lucky to have an active PM like you... Now RDA AIIMS requests you to put (on) white apron and spend one day as a government doctor to understand the tremendous amount of pressure we face, the agony of patients who did not get treatment, the dying healthcare system due to lack of resources and infrastructure," AIIMS RDA president Harjit Singh Bhatti wrote in the letter.

"Your one day as a government doctor can be a turning point for the healthcare system as it will restore faith in the medical profession," the letter read.

The AIIMS Resident Doctors' Association urged PM Modi to understand the tremendous pressure on doctors at government hospitals due to the poor infrastructure and misbehaviour of patient's kin during emergency situations.

The letter termed the strike by Rajasthan doctors since December 16 as “helplessness rather than intentional”, citing that the state government arrested 86 doctors by imposing RESMA.

"Their demands were previously accepted by the Rajasthan government but now they refuse to fulfil them, resulting in mistrust and anguish among the hardworking doctors. Please instruct the Rajasthan government to fulfil their promises and stop all atrocities against doctors," it said.

Don't challenge him. He may take up the challenge. He already have taken up such challenges. But, still want to force him, be prepared for the consequences. He may even change the complete anatomy as he changed the complete economy.

    Dear Doctors,
Please note that every profession has tough task. More the income, more tensions. This applies to Military, software engineers, filmstars, even politicians and many other professions.
Remember that you have taken oath to serve the people and just counting money (income) . You should have been aware of the difficulties of the profession but still you are paying in crores for admission of a post graduate degree!
Think over before you say anything.

Oath is taken. But you spend a day in a govt hospital to see the working conditions. Doctors and patients sleep with rats. Dogs roam everywhere. And don t think that all doctors are earning in crores.

@thomas demello ,Kundapur, I dont think you are or not worked in medical dept,.Sure Pay is bit high ,but there are professions where they earn more than doctors. But in a day of a doctor,he has to take a decision witin seconds to save a patients life which none of other profession needs.when a patient comes with accident with head inury,a woman in pains which needs immediate surgery, where a baby and woman are struggling for life. Then comes a moment you forget your money ,or oath ,but decision only important.without transfering a woman to Op.tisch ,on the bed we operated a woman within 5minutes ,baby was out.Thank God both survived.Tell me then do doctors think then she has no money or richest woman?no only decision to save life.Emergenca dept in Govt hospital is worst. No beginning no end ,no proper fecilities make it worst .Govt has to decide iether close the hospitals or save its citizens.where can a poor coolie go when he doesnt have money doctors have right.PM should work in govt.emergency dept.without body guards or without help.

Let him wear apron, but do not give him scalpel, otherwise he will remember what he said and will do like ancient Indians. On Oct 29, 2014 - Speaking at the Reliance Foundation Hospital in Mumbai, Narendra Modi referred to Mahabharat hero Karna's birth and elephant god Ganesh's head to say that India could take pride in its past achievements in medicine.
