Derek's nomination as member -South East Regional Regional Programme review for elimination of filiaresis has by WHO has not come to him as an ex gratia assignment but certainly as a recognition of his excellent services to the WHO over the years. Derek is not a specialist in his area of management but is an excellent organizer. He is one of the few good speakers in The Magalorean Community and is blessed with the quality of being liked by any one who he comes in contact with.

He has indeed kept up the good name and tradition of the family. His late Father was wonderful speaker himself and is a person of name and fame. It is good to see his son walking in his footsteps. Congrats to you Derek from all your well wishers including me. You have brought to Dakshina Kannada. Kudos from the Mangalorean community. Joe Gonsalves.
