Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru

Bengaluru, Jan 4: Amid the uproar over the killing of right-wing activist Deepak Rao at Katipalla near Mangaluru, chief minister Siddaramaiah on Thursday January 4 condemned the murder and appealed to the people of Dakshina Kannada district to 'not be swayed' by communal forces.

"I condemn the dastardly act of murdering young Deepak Rao, and offer my deepest condolences to the family for their loss.

"While we know the loss is irreparable, we have announced Rs 10 lakhs as compensation to the family. We share in their grief (sic)," the chief minister tweeted.

"My sincere appeal to the citizens of Dakshina Kannada not to be swayed by mischievous propaganda by forces that seek to divide our society on communal lines," he said in another tweet.

The CM also appreciated the Mangaluru city police for swiftly catching hold of the accused and said that he has asked the city police commissioner to ensure fair investigation.

"I compliment the Mangalore City Police for swiftly arresting the culprits. Have also asked the Mangalore Police Commissioner to ensure fair investigation so that the culprits of Deepak Rao, are punished to the fullest extent of law (sic)," he said.

Deepak Rao was hacked to death by a gang of four at Katipalla on Wednesday January 3. Within hours, the Mulky police succeeded in nabbing hold of the four accused in a dramatic chase. The opposition BJP and right-wing organizations meanwhile resorted to intense protests and observed a bandh in Katipalla.

    Dear CM Siddaramaiah,
There are some vested interest acting on the instruction of masters from Delhi and Nagpur are desperately trying to crete communal disturbance in Coastal Karnataka and Malendu for vote bank politics prior to the Karnataka assembly elections.

It is know to government who is the instigators but the Home Minister of Karnataka seems to be showing 'soft corner' instead of showing 'zero tolerance'.

    Here are some suggestion for the Home Minister and Chief Minister office in the interest of Kannadigas security, safety and peace;
    1. There are number of top level law enforcement officers being transferred but in the ground reality remains the same. From top and bottom shuffle all the officers and give equal representation from all religions in the law enforcement department in undivided Canara.
    2. Block all the IP address of all rumor mongers who are desperately try to spread false information.
    3. Increase the intelligence input to the street level.
    4. No protest or campaign without the written permission from the District administrator and law enforcement officers. In the written consent organiser will be held liable for the damage for private and government assets and in the event of unnatural death.
    5. No posters, banners, buntings, scribbling on the walls or loud speakers regardless of any caste and creeds.
    6. Zero tolerance to the imported 'hate speakers'. All the speeches should be recorded by the court monitored law enforcement without any tampers.
    7. Social media site should be strictly monitored. Administrator should be booked under cyber security law if their is direct violations.
    8. As elections are approaching money, liquor and weapons should be strictly monitored.
9 Mass media should be strictly monitored for telecasting 'fake news' which can disturb the peace of the region.

Only a matured CM will say to donot heed to communal forces.Others will just add ghee to the fire by saying we will burn DK,blah blah,Ramanth rai behind murder blah blah. This is the time we the people of DK should pay respect to someone murdered ,his soul should be at peace.
We should show support in matured way,not by road blockage ,there may be ambulance which has to cross the road.
Again we are falling into prey of communal forces.write a letter to CM.go n tweet.Ask him to appoint sp like Annamalai.Dont make noise on empty pots.Hold the candle march rally peacefully.

Finally Nidde got out of sleep. What about Ramanath Rai and MLA's from coastal district. What a shame on Congress who historically divide and rule the country on Religion based agenda. Shame on you guys, while you play with innocents life. As the culprits are caught why CM is not announcing the next course of 3rd degree action on the culprits?

    Jai Ho Shriman Sidduji...,

At least you showed the courage to condemn the incident.., primary investigation reveal that there is an element of FEKUISM in this instance....!!!!

On the sidelines..., without prejudice.., I am still waiting for our honorable PM to take few minutes to cognizance of the matter and condemn the incident..., though probably amidst Guj election time, conveniently choose not to condemn the lynching of a man in Rajasthan couple of weeks back ..., at least let us expect for once from our honorable PM a statement of assurance on such instances...,

Thank you BJP for scoring self goals after self goals. It's becoming increasingly easier for congress and Sid to confront BJP. What else BJP has other than using its actors for various occasions to act out and lynch thier own. All BJP dramas are ending in sad note.

do you read any news paper & watch news in TV? bcoz as we know Deepak was murdered by 4 people & they have already arrested. here bjp protesting against the murder of its member. since this is the continuation of murder series it is their duty to protest as the govt action was very poor in these case. when the errors/mistakes/hidden agenda repeated again & again then people will get angry. so they condemn this act. but unfortunately some people are unable to condemn these murder series since their political party not able to stop this kind of murders.
