Mangaluru, Jan 16: The Indo Universal Collaboration for Engineering Education (IUCEE) has recognized St Joseph Engineering College, here as a transformational leader in Engineering Education for the year 2017.
IUCEE was conceptualized by over 150 leaders of engineering education and businesses from US and India in 2007. The vision of IUCEE is to improve the quality and global relevance of engineering education and research in India with related benefits to engineering educators around the world. The major focus of IUCEE is on faculty development, student development, curriculum development as well as improved teaching technologies and engineering education research.
IUCEE has become established as a prime mover for improving quality of engineering education in more than 50 engineering colleges in India. An ecosystem has been built with the help of global experts from around the world.
Each year IUCEE recognizes several institutions as transformational leaders in engineering education for their outstanding contribution to the quality of engineering education during the past year. St Joseph Engineering College is proud to receive this award for the year 2017 and thanks IUCEE for the special recognition. The award was presented to representatives of the college by Dr Krishna Vedula, director of IUCEE, professor and dean Emeritus, University of Massachusetts – Lowell, at the international conference on transformations in engineering education 2018 (ICTIEE 2018) at Madurai on Jan 8.
BVB College of Engineering, Hubballi (now KLE Tech University), BMS College of Engineering, Bengaluru and College of Engineering Pune are some of the recipients of this award in the last few years.
