Bangkok: Annual general meeting of TKB held, new office bearers elected

Bangkok, Jan 25: The annual general meeting of Thai Kannada Balaga (TKB) was held at Vrindavan hotel on January 21.

The main agenda of the meeting was election of new office bearers for the coming two years. Outgoing president K Patil took charge of the meeting. The meeting began with K Patil presenting the annual report to the gathering, and the statement of annual account was presented and approved and suggestions from the house were taken for next year followed by the election of the new committee members.

Ravi M B was elected as president Wilson Pinto, Shamboor as secretary Subrahmanya Nilekeri as treasurer and Nisha Devadiga as cultural secretary for the next two years (2018-2020). Former officer-bearers K Patil, Vincy Daniel Pinto, Habibulla Katpady and Vinaya Rai and were present on the occasion.

TKB came into existence in 2002 and has successfully completed 15 years. It is a socio-cultural organization to foster the culture of Karnataka, India in Thailand.

There are about 160 families from Karnataka living all over the Thailand. TKB works very hard to bring them together on Ugadi, Diwali, Kannada Rajyotsava and other festivals to promote rich cultural heritage of Karnataka.
