Mangalore: Foundation Stone Laid for Road Concreting Hampankatta-PVS Stretch

Mangalore, Aug 10: The foundation stone for road concreting work between Hampankatta to P V S circle, was laid on Sunday, August 10.
The concreting work will be done at an expenditure of Rs 5.3 crore. Contractors have donated Rs 1.5 crore and the rest of the cost will be borne by the Mangalore City Corporation (MCC). Speaking on the occasion, Yogish Bhat, MLA, commended the contractors for their generous donation.
The road between Hampankatta to Sharavu Temple will be concreted in the first phase. Traffic has been diverted to facilitate smooth movement of vehicles in the city. The road concreting work will be finished within two months, said MCC sources.
Krishna Palemar, district in-charge minister, mayor Ganesh Hosabettu, deputy mayor Shakila Kava, Harinath, opposition party leader in the MCC, and former mayor Shashidhar Hegde were also present on the occasion.
