Mangalore: Sevanjali Chairtable Trust to Honour P Dayanand Pai

Mangalore, Aug 28: Sevanjali Charitable Trust with its office at Car Street here, working for the upliftment of economically backward families and helping students to get educated and unemployed to become self-employed. In tune with its tradition of honouring an eminent personality every year, the Trust has chosen to felicitate P Dayanand Pai, builder and philanthropist from Bangalore, who has been chosen by it as the man of the year.
A press note from the Trust has said that Pai has been chosen by it as the man of the year, because of his outstanding contribution to the society. P Dayanand Pai, managing director of Century Building Industries Pvt Ltd Bangalore, will be honoured at a function to be held at a function to be organized on the evening of Saturday August 30, at Lord Venkataramana Temple, Car Street. T M A Foundation president K K Pai will be honouring Dayanand Pai.
At the function, prior to the felicitation programme, health card will be launched at 6.45 pm. Sri Veera Venkatesha Charitable trust, functioning as a wing of Lord Venkataramana temple here, which has been doing lot of activities in the field of education, health care etc., has undertaken distribution of health cards as one of its major initiatives since the last three years. At present, the trust has covered about 22,000 people from 5,500 families under the health card scheme, being run in association with Dr T M A Pai Foundation and Manipal University. During the last year, card holders availed of health care benefits amounting to about Rs 30 lac through various KMC hospitals.
T M A Foundation president K K Pai, Corporation Bank general manager B R Bhat, Syndicate Bank general manager M M Kudva, Canara Bank deputy general manager M M Kudva, Expert group of institutions founder Narendra Nayak and trustees of Lord Venkataramana temple will participate as guests. After the function, Satyanarayana Pooja will be performed, followed by distribution of Prasadam and dinner.
The Trust has also informed, that bus services have been specially arranged for the public attending the function, to places like Mannagudda, Urwa, Kodical, Bondel,Konchady, Attavar and Jeppu after the conclusion of the programme.
