Bangalore: Padmapriya Case - Finally High Court Grants Bail to Atul Rao

Daijiworld Media Network - Bangalore (MM)

Bangalore, Sep 2: Finally the High Court has granted bail to Atul Rao, who was arrested in connection with the mysterious death of Padmapriya, wife of Udupi MLA Raghupati Bhat, on Tuesday September 2.

The High Court has however, ordered Atul to present himself in the Manipal police station on every Sunday. He has also been instructed to cooperate in the ongoing CoD probe.

He was granted bail based on a personal bond of Rs 1 lac and two sureties.

Padmapriya went missing from her house near Udupi on June 10. Later she was found dead mysteriously in a rented flat in New Delhi on June 15. Eversince, the sources as well as the police have maintained that she ended her life owing to family disputes.

Atul Rao, the childhood friend of Raghupati Bhat has been held responsible for Padmapriya's death as he had helped Padmapriya to leave her house, elope to Delhi and rent a flat there.

Though Atul Rao was taken into the custody while Padmapriya was in Delhi, he was officially arrested on June 23 based on a complaint filed by MLA Raghupati Bhat. Eversince it has been a hide-n-seek game as he has constantly been hitting headlines. During his police custody, he took ill and was admitted to hospital. But owing to some unknown reasons he was forced to change hospitals at various times. Despite his constant efforts to get bail, he was denied bail. Even the police had failed to produce him in the court under the pretext that he was ill.

Now after serving almost two months behind the bar, he has been granted conditional bail.

While it is a great shame to Law & Order as of this time, the police and law seems to bow to Raghupati Bhat. In a triangle, Mr. Atul Rao is a victim, he seems to know more in this case but now he is afraid of himself & his family.

Law & order is gone to dogs in this case. I wish I were part of this Law & order, then could unmask this Bhat and uphold justice. Am sure he will have sleepless nights in the days to come. Get prepared, you day will come. Good luck Bhat, your future is sure not bright.

Question remains, why is the Delhi police not involved? Case should have been handed over to CBI and not CoD!

One thing is clear. The present MLA will not be voted to office again. Just Atul case is enough to be used by the opposing candidates for their advantage.
