Panaji, Sep 7: Utt Goenkara has today expressed surprise that R. Kothandaraman who is on deputation from the Lok Sabha Secretariat continues as Secretary, Goa Legislature even though he stands officially retired from Government service
Stating that Goa needs outstanding officers with high integrity, Utt Goenkara spokesman Aires Rodrigues has pointed out that R. Kothandaraman was one of the officers acting with vested interests for short term gains in connivance with certain politicians to the detriment of Goa and Goans.
Demanding that Goa Government should not re-employ Kothandaraman as Secretary Legislature on contract basis, Rodrigues has stated that Kothandaraman's continuance in Goa after his voluntary retirement has come into force was illegal.
Rodrigues has stated that he was informed today by Secretary General of the Lok Sabha Secretariat P.D.T. Achary that R. Kothandaraman has ceased to be an employee of the Lok Sabha Secretariat after his application for voluntary retirement was accepted.
It may be recalled that fearing departmental disciplinary action against him, R. Kothandaraman had applied for voluntary retirement but later sought to withdraw the application, but the withdrawal was not allowed by the Lok Sabha Secretariat.
Kothandaraman has been charge-sheeted for threatening the Secretary General of the Lok Sabha Secretariat P.D.T. Achary and is also facing an inquiry for anti-government activity on a complaint filed by the Governor of Nagaland where Kothandaraman was earlier posted.
Rodrigues has stated that Kothandaraman who was earlier posted in Goa from 2000 to 2002, also while Pratapsingh Rane was the Speaker of the Goa Legislative Assembly, prematurely made a sudden exit from Goa after being exposed in an alleged extra-marital affair with a staff member
Rodrigues also informed that Utt Goenkara has invited Fr. Anthony Joseph, Headmaster of St Theresa's High School, Bandra to visit Goa with all the official records which prove beyond doubt that Monseratte had not even completed 8th Std.
