New Delhi, May 14 (IANS): Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal along with his cabinet colleagues and other Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs on Monday sat on a 'dharna' near the office of the Lieutenant Governor (LG) after the latter refused to meet him over the CCTV row.

It is the first time since his swearing-in as the Chief Minister in February 2015 that he sat on a dharna on a road.

Kejriwal, along with other AAP MLAs walked from his residence here to the LG's house to meet him and when he refused, they sat on the road.

Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Saturday wrote to Lt Governor Anil Baijal asking him to meet the Ministers and Legislators at 3 p.m. on Monday over the CCTV installation issue.

"We are the elected government and want to meet the LG. He meets BJP MLAs on short notice, why can't he meet us? We want to meet him, this is for the ladies of Delhi," Sisodia told IANS.

Kejriwal, who is leading the protest told IANS, "There is not even a single representative of the Delhi government in the committee. We want to meet him to urge not to play with the security of our daughters."

Sitting on the road, the MLAs have been chanting slogans against the BJP and the LG and are saying they will not move until the LG accepts their demand for a meeting.

On Tuesday, Baijal formed the committee to come up with a standard operating procedure for the installation, operation, and monitoring of closed-circuit televisions (CCTVs).
