Mangaluru, May 19: Daijiworld’s 5th venture ‘Radio daijiworld’, an app based online radio meticulously curated to suit the tastes of Konkani and Tulu music lovers spread across the globe, is celebrating its anniversary on May 19.
The free android and iOS based internet radio app and the radio was launched last year on May 19 by the philanthropist and NRI entrepreneur Ronald Colaco, IGP (western range) P Harishekaran and managing director of Hyssna International LLC, Abu Dhabi, Ronald Pinto.
Year after its launch, Radio daijiworld has won the hearts of thousands of listeners who have applauded the efforts to revive and promote regional songs in Konkani and Tulu both old and new ones. Since its inception, it has collaborated with many artists and for events. It has attracted listeners from Australia, Canada, US and UK.
It has plans to bring all the artists under one platform and produce a ‘Radio daijiworld music festival’ soon. It has also plans to introduce birthday wishes.

Within a year the very idea of online radio has been successful in catering to music aficionados of coastal Karnataka spread across the globe. It has crossed more than 10,000 downloads on android alone and 5,000 plus downloads in iOS. People listen to Radio daijiworld across the world 24X7. The main idea of the venture is to keep the Konkani music alive. The platform has been helpful to many artists to promote their albums and piece of music. I am overwhelmed by the response that Radio daijiworld has been getting from the listeners. The venture has also given extra mileage to daijiworld media network to provide a platform for digital advertisers to run advertisements on audio form."

Radio daijiworld is the only station from Mangaluru on Radio Garden. Radio Garden which is getting circulated in social media as ISRO innovation is actually a project by the Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision.
Radio daijiworld has no RJs at present but has recorded interviews and has produced other event promos. One of the interview session which plays on Fridays 11- 1 pm (Dubai) also repeat Broadcasts on Sunday 11- 1 pm Indian Standard Time is called as Susyegaath Dhonpaar.
Radio daijiworld is registered with world class brands like Bose, Yamaha, Denon, Pioneer, Loewe, Philips, Samsung, Naim and Audi.

Radio daijiworld is a subsidiary of Daijiworld Audio Visual Pvt Ltd, is the fifth of the Daijiworld group's ventures, after daijiworld.com web portal, Daijiworld Weekly, Daijiworld Television and Daijiworld Audio-Visual studio. It is a state of art technology internet-radio running on a cloud platform providing finely curated music to its global audience. The App
Radio daijiworld is primarily an app-based medium. The app's user-friendliness brings in no hurdles for internet newbies either. The simple app can be downloaded from the app store both by iOS and android users. It is customized for all internet users, offering a high quality radio with crystal clear sound, accessible even on 2G internet. Other utilities are available on the app, such as links to the radio's social media pages, push notifications, and regular utilities like alarm, weather and news updates. The app also has a built-in recording facility.
Listeners can share the link to the app through the 'share' option therein. Songs can be rated with the star-like option on the app, and top-rated songs will appear in a distinct list. Twenty high-rated songs feature in the monthly top-20 Radio Show.

Audience Interaction
The audience can interact with RADIO daijiworld primarily through the Facebook, WhatsApp and Twitter, details of which are given below. Its Facebook page will be the face of the station with routine updates of radio events. As it is not a live station yet, the radio will welcome voice messages and song requests on Whatsapp voice messages only. The name of the sender, city residence, song dedicated, and well wishes, if any, are welcome in the WhatsApp voice message. The Twitter handle will display live updates of songs playing.
The app also provides YouTube links to top rated songs.
Music Portal
Konkani and Tulu music industry which has a rich history was somewhere lagging behind when the realm of music went Cloud. RADIO daijiworld bridges that digital gap. About 80% of its broadcast content will be dedicated to Konkani and Tulu music.
Apart from expanding the platform for Konkani and Tulu songs, Radio daijiworld opens to its listeners, a world of vernacular music across generations.
