Bangalore, Sep 22: A meeting was called by the archbishop of Bangalore Dr Bernard Moras on Monday September 22 at 9.30 am, to resolve and take effective measures with regard to the attacks on the Christian holy places, above all the attacks on the sanctity of the adoration places of Christians.
Eminent personalities, priests, nuns, media persons and people connected with the churches participated in the conference. Many people had an opportunity to share their views on the attacks and also the measures that need to be taken. It was suggested to have a core committee headed by the archbishop Moras and that interdenominational groups should visit Delhi to present the case to the Prime Minister.
It was also planned to appoint an official spokesperson to represent the Christians. The need to set up an apex body with sub bodies was also felt, to ensure that the voices of all the Christians is heard as one. At the meeting, it was realized that the Christians are lacking in unity.
This was followed by the chief minister B S Yeddyurappa’s visit of the archbishop along with home minister Dr Acharya, Katta Subramanya Naidu and some other ministers.
