Mangaluru, Jun 20: While most people in coastal region are either enjoying the rain or cursing it, a woman traffic home guard stationed at Nanthoor here has set an example in her commitment to duty amid heavy rainfall.
Surekha, the home guard, was seen managing the vehicles despite heavy showers, with just a raincoat shielding her.
Pictures captured by a commuter have been going viral on social media and the brave cop has been lauded by all.
Managing traffic in Nanthoor is a nightmare for the traffic cops. Already an accident-prone area, the torrential downpour has added to the misery of those commuting through this area. But Surekha, who serves in Mangaluru traffic police station as home guard, despite being drenched in rain managed traffic for hours.
The brave cop has been saluted by the Mangalureans for her terrific dedication who cleared traffic unfazed by rain.
Rakesh, a residents of Bikarnakatte said that she must be rewarded and acknowledged for her dedication. "This is the difference between duty and job," he said.
Another student from Nanthoor said that when everyone was safe at their homes, this lady cop did her duty as saviour of city standing tall amidst the rain.
