1.38 pm: Mangaluru South MLA Vedavyas Kamath slams HDK for ignoring the coastal region. "We had urged for special funds for the rain-damaged coastal region, but we got nothing. There is no allocation for coastal development, not even for roads. This is injustice to the people of coastal region and we strongly condemn this."
1.36 pm: Sources say soon after the budget presentation, ministers U T Khader and Zameer Ahmed Khan approached HDK to express displeasure over not announcing any allocation for minorities. HDK is learnt to have told them that it would be taken care of in the next budget.
1.33 pm: BJP leader R Ashok lambasts HDK's budget. "There is no mention about fixing the potholes in Bengaluru, and no mention of Kolar and coastal region either. Petrol and power prices have been hiked - this will increase the burden on the poor. It is not at all a people-friendly budget. We are going to protest."
