Mangalore, Oct 24: Harsha, a tusker from Dubare elephant camp, Madikeri, arrived at Pilikula Nisargadhama on Thursday October 23. The pachyderm had been a part of the recent Mysore Dasara celebrations.

The 36-year-old tusker joins Durgaparameshwari, the 51-year-old female elephant, also procured from Dubare, for the newly-introduced jumbo safari at the wildlife sanctuary. The safari is the newest addition at the park and attracts many children, especially on weekends.  Authorities are also trying to bring in two elephant calves to the sanctuary at the earliest.

Pilikula Nisargadhama has several endangered species of wildlife as well as local varieties of birds and animals. The sanctuary is spread across several acres.
