Mangalore, Oct 31: Members of Karnataka Forum for Dignity (KFD) have urged the district commissioner here on Friday October 31 to suspend jail superintendent Ishwar Naik following repeated attack on prisoners belonging to minority communities by alleged Bajarang Dal inmates in the jail. They also urged to shift Mahendra Kumar, former state convener of Bajranga Dal to Bellary state prison.

The appeal was made during the protest held in front of DC's office against alleged assault on two prisoners who were under judicial custody by the Bajrang Dal activists on Thursday October 31.

Fakir Bava and Rafique who have been under judicial custody after they were detained for their alleged terror links were severely attacked by a few prisoners on Thursday October 30 evening.  Following this both Fakir Bava and Rafique have been admitted to Wenlock Hospital in the city.

Addressing the demonstrators, noted thinker G Rajashekar said that there is no security to common people in Dakshina Kannada district. Some police officials have forgotten their genuine duties and are behaving like criminals. People have lost trust with the authority, he opined.

"Some of the officials have joined hands with fascist agents and they are busy adding fuel to the hatred fury. If officials have been involved in such activities, whom people should complain against injustice?," he questioned. He added that he can become a terrorist only owing to the injustice meted out by the authority or when authorities concerned stand as silent spectator instead of taking actions against atrocities.

Blaming home minister Dr VS Acharya for perpetual attacks carried against minorities in the state, Rajashekar said, "Our home minister has no brains. His responses to such heinous crime has been lukewarm and he is acting like robot man'.

Haji Hamid Kandak said that the outcome of investigation on recent Malegaon bomb blast has unmasked the real face of Sangh Parivar. It has been proved that Bajarang Dal and RSS activists are terrorists and they hate peace in the society.

Social thinker Jayan Malpe, Suresh Bhat Bhakrabailu president Komu Souharda Vedike, P B D'Sa, district president, PUCL, KFD leaders Abdul Azeez, Anwar Saadath also spoke on the occasion.

Earlier the members of Forum for Rights and Dignity discussed the matter with jailor Ishwar Naik. They said that jailor has assured to give protection to the prisoners belonging to minority community in the cell.

I agree with Nawaz Kukkikatte. Sitting in US and supporting Bajrangi's & Sangh Parivar's act of brutality doesn't suit a person like Siva who must be an educated person able to reach USA. Stone throwing, hurting people and damaging society property - is it a good deed? If Siva has so much fondness and regards to Bajrang Dal & Sangh Parivar, why did he go to USA to make a living? He could have very well stayed in his loving mother country. India.

The jailor of this type should not be suspended but criminal charges registered against him. Such people should be put behind bars under a strict, no-nonsense Jailor.

Shame on these brutual police force?More than that it is shame that the hiding of so called community leaders who are always there during the election time, with their respective party leaders or taking center stage in every community functions. When whole of minority community is suffering from brutual tactics of Sangha parivar and their police, this leaders are no where to seen.

These so called leaders to be boycotted from all of the functions and a lesson to be given to them ,for their cowardly act of hiding, when the common and innocent people of community needed them. Keep it up your brave face- Forum for Rights and Dignity .

Even jails are not safe for the minority community in India. I’m recalling the sayings of Mr, Jawaharlal Nehru that "Extremism in minorities can be curbed but if the majority becomes extremists then the country will go fascist".

If the government cannot protect people even inside a prison, what can others expect. It is time that the people of mangalore remove their communal glasses and see clearly, because if the law keepers act like criminals you may wellbe their next victim.

The bias show by the administration and the police has strengthened the Bajrang Dal activists and even the common man has started behaving like criminals. Once the problem becomes big, it will get out of their hands and then there will be a lot of suffering. The recent attacks on the churches is evidence of this attitude.

It is a shocing news ?, Minorities are under attack in all the area. Now what we have seeen is a person who are in judicial custody has been attacked by the Bajrang dal activites. Even if minorities are not safe in Judicial custody, then where are they safe.

It is the right thing KFD had protested against this. Even if the D.C. or the governement has not taken the severe actionagainst the culprits, enire law abading citizen specialy minorities should join together and protest these type of acts? Is our Home minister is the home minister of the state or the home minister of the Sangh Parivar? Let the honrable minister give the answer. We thank daijiworld for covering the message with PHOTO.

Basically I don’t support KFD in many of their programs but in this issue I am fully with them. After 14th and 15th Sept. incident in Mangalore I had visited Mangalore jail at least 4 to 5 times. These BD were given first class treatment and they used to tease and harass the minority. Even they were instigating the criminals to act against the minority but the criminals have bluntly refused. The criminals were more secular and human than this fanatic BD.

In my own eyes one Muslim boy crying to his parents that BD jail mates had beaten him and showing his wounds to his parents. This is the situation prevailing right now in Mangalore. The Home Minister is acting as if he does not know any thing but with his full knowledge this is happened. He is snake in the grass, worse than poison snake. It these people are the root cause for terrorist instead of curtailing it.

When most of us are busy doing nothing but writing/commenting as to who is right and who is wrong and what is good and what is bad, what should be done and what should not be done, it is consoling to know that there are organisations like KFD supported by social thinkers and well wishers comprising of members from all communities are proving their worth in actions and not just by words by taking care of the helpless persons from the minorities who are in the jail.

Joint forums and joint organisations of Hindu-Muslims-Christians will have more power and yeild better results than a single community fighting against a common enemy.

I would like to make a point here, without blaming the ruling party nor the opposition. How many of you feel what I feel? For the last four months what we have experienced in Karnataka, is something we were hearing about a few states in North India, and which we used to see in Hindi Movies. Unfortunately there is no law and order in the state and the general public is not feeling safe and secure.

There was a time in Dakshin Kannada people used to come home late at night even at midnight. No one was worried, but now if someone is late the home people become anxious, nervous. Why what is happening? There was a time Karnataka police had high regard, now the public is apprehensive about their role. Beating the jail inmates is a crime. The culprits should be punished. The officials who are supporting this crime have to be suspended and booked immediately, otherwise there might arise a situation of where all the general public will gather together against these atrocities and injustice. Last word - Bajrangis have brought enough bad name to Hindus, now it is high time that they mend their ways and stop terrorizing. If govt. does not take stern action against them then BJP will pay for it.

Komu Souharda Vedike and KFD are trying to break the country. If one reads the report here, it is clear what they are pitching for. The leaders of these forums should be arrested under NSA. They are covering up all the anti-national terrorists who have used bombs to murder many and have tried to work against India's interest and in the same breath they are calling Mahendra Kumar whose people have not used anything more than stones as terrorist.

You continue to needle majority community with impunity accorded by party interested in your votes (and not your welfare) and expect no retaliation? Your supporters are organizations like PUCL who look towards China for all major things and look towrds morally corrupt individuals like Mahesh Bhat and Teestavad for all mundane things and look towrds China for the strategic directions.

Shame on jail authorities for not protecting these prisoners. It appears that these goondas are not afraid of law and not feeling sorry about the crimes they have committed. I hope the courts take a serious view of this and dish out appopriate punishment

This is going to be chaos in mangalore the city i was born and brought up in a fearless society is taken over by extremist fundamentalists. The minority is not minority. They are wealthy, influential and educated who by the rest of secular minded people we can eradicate these extreemists. But the state police force has to be taken over by the military force who should be secular force and not backed by the extreemists or harsh minded. who should be sympathising force.
