Kundapur, Sep 30: A married couple from Sringeri committed suicide here in a lodge at Kundapur. The couple was found dead on Sunday, September 30.

Gurumurthy (43) from Sringeri and Sharada (30) from Koppa are the deceased.

It is learnt that Gurumurthy is married and has two children. Sharada who is also married has an 8-year-old daughter. They were in love and on September 26 had checked into Hotel Hariprasad in Kundapur. They claimed to be husband and wife and provided ID proof and stayed in a room. On Sunday, the room boy found the couple lying dead in the room.

Immediately, police were informed and their ID proof was seized. It came to light that on September 27, a missing complaint was filed by family of Sharada. After confirming about the complaint from Shringeri police, Kundapur police informed both the families.

The couple ended life by consuming poison. The bodies have been sent for post mortem.

    Since Law is changed
They shouldn't worried about moral police or honour killing as well.

Why are you so allergic to Modi? Do you have any personal enmity with him? Though abandoned, Jashodaben has full right to claim her entitlements. But here the couple didn’t abandon their spouses. What makes you compare this case with Modi? And what would you have said if the couple was from some other community?

the law has been passed for the betterment of the society. think out of the box. these two are scared and losers. pyar kiya tho darna kya. life is short, one marriage doesnt work out find a solution and the new law will help you instead of rubbing and wasting the life with the same spouse. dont think too much of kids, they are with you until they hit teen and after that dont even care you. so just enjoy the life within the legal way, look after kids, provide provision for the better schooling but don't fully sacrifice your life. Zindagi dubaara milega nahi. Just chill. dont even to regret for the new law. india is progressing to avoid these rapes etc. let the adult at least enjoy instead of just struggle for their children...
i dont think anything wrong in the new law which helps to fix the broken marriages whether for men or women. in our short life we need some love and pampering.

"They claimed to be husband and wife and provided ID proof." I think hotel management either ignored to check properly or may be going by the rules of some French hotels, where the boards say "only couples are allowed, but not necessarily married to each other."

    Santan maam,

Looks like you are not reading news recently...Indian Supreme Court decriminalized sex outside the marriage...so what they were doing was perfectly legal...perhaps they too were not aware of SC ruling...SAD...

    ...Tak...Takk...

I have read and they also may be aware. But, in a country where honor killing is going on among Hindus, Christians and Muslims, they may be afraid of practical side of such adultery.

Respect for this couple as they committed suicide rather than murder. Firdous and Asif should have done the same rather than killing Sameer. Lovers claim that love is eternal so in the hereafter they may keep each others company.

Adults can make choices. Particulary in view of the recent SC ruling on Adultery, I suppose no law is broken.

But imagine the sad situation of the children!

What could be going through their minds? They will be deeply affected for the whole of their lives.

    Feel sorry for them.

More than law there is something called morale and society. If we have to live only by legal ways and not by socially acceptable means, then there will be no difference between humans and animals.....

Satan is strong..who provoked both commit suicide. Purva janmada karma. Not both ever thought of there children's a sad fact. Love is blind..can say so..in this incident. How love engulfed people..god only knows. So cruelty in love..cannot stay with one another..it means lack of confidence. Depression in life may be one more reason to take such steps. People should incline towards spirtuality to avoid such happenings.
