Dubai: Mrigank Mehta Emerges Winner of Boogie Woogie - 2008

Dubai, Nov 22: 12-year-old Dubai's dancing sensation, who also has his routes from Mangalore has emerged winner of Boogie Woogie UAE 2008 Junior title by beating 15 highly competitive dancing contestants at the Indian Pavilion of Global Village on November 21, 2008.
The audition for Junior contestants was held in July 2008. Out of the 400 participants, 60 had been selected for the preliminary rounds .
The final 16 were chosen in last week’s competition.
"It was a very tough competition. Judges had a tough time to decide on the final winner but Mrigank's performance was outstanding because of his graceful moves and better choreography by Kumar of Mangalore " said Suresh Kumar, proud father of Mrgiank while speaking to daijiworld after the competition.
Mrigank has received number of goodies along with the certificate. He will now participate in the mega finals of Boogie Woogie to be held in South Africa next year, where participants from all over the world will fight for the champion's title.
Mrigank has won many awards in his tender age not only for dance performances but also for his all-round achievement in academic as well as extra-curricular activities. He won H.H. Sheikh Hamdan award for 2008 for best all round performance including academics. He is also holder of the black belt.
Mrigank has also won several laurels in singing, as Radio RJ, public speaking, reading, playing Tabla. He presented several live dance shows in the UAE as well as abroad and was featured on Asia Net TV regularly.
Mrigank thanked Sony TV, Telelife magazine and its staff, sponsors for this show, E for Entertainment, Mumzi, Anjali Dudani, his choreographer Kumar, his costume designer Prabha and all the supporters who were present at the Global Village for this entertaining and thrilling show .
Mrigank has continued his contributions to Special Needs Families by choreographing to the kids with special needs. He was the youngest choreographer for Special Needs Families children. Mrigank is ready to help for any noble cause.
He has been preparing for a sequence of 28 dances for Gurukul and working with Choreographer Ajeet Singh. This program is scheduled to be held in Dubai in January 2009.
Mrugank's sister Harita studying in Canada, is also a dance sensation, and has won runner-up award in 'Jodi No. 1' in UAE last year. Harita keeps inspiring this little prodigy. She is the main inspiration with the parent's full dedication and support.
Mrigank is the son of Dinesh Kumar and Yashoda. Yashoda hails from Udupi.
