New Delhi, Dec 13: As suspense escalated on who would be named the chief ministers of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, Jyotiraditya Scindia, one of the frontrunners for the post of Madhya Pradesh chief minister tweeted on Thursday evening that ' It was not a race but they were here to serve the people of Madhya Pradesh'.
Taking to twitter, Scindia after meeting Rahul Gandhi and party's central observers, said, "It is not a race, it is not about kursi, we are here to serve the people of Madhya Pradesh. I am leaving for Bhopal and you will get to know the decision today."
Earlier, K C Venugopal, AICC general secretary, former Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra held discussion with Rahul Gandhi about the choices for the new chief ministers. Kamal Nath and Jyotiraditya Scindia were in contention for the top post in Madhya Pradesh.
Rahul Gandhi held separate meeting with Jyotiraditya Scindia and Kamal Nath, the frontrunners for the post of Madhya Pradesh chief minister.
At the Congress' legislature party meeting yesterday, MLAs from both states passed an order saying the final decision will be that of Congress chief Rahul Gandhi.
