Udupi: Face Painting, Cookery competitions at Kaup - Pictures

Udupi, Dec 13: The students of eleven pre university colleges across the district participated in various competitions held at   the Kaup Vidyaniketan Pre University College, near here on Thursday December 11. Face paintings and cookery without fire were the two main disciplines.
 
The pre university students drew innovative face paintings significantly depicting the coastal district's culture in the form of Bhootakola, yakshagana style, Hulivesha, king cobra, cricket hovering in a garden, sunset, two facets of peace and violence curbing terror emotions etc which were widely appreciated by viewers.

 
The girl  students  partook in the cookery competition ,  preparing food items without the use of fire.  They prepared various  items like ice creams, sweets, salads and other delicacies.  The competitions were the first of its kind to be held in the district. 
 
Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Pre University College students Nagaraj and Prakash bagged the first prize in the face painting competition.  Vidyaniketan Pre University College students Apoorva and Merlyn bagged the second prize and Koteshwar Government Pre University College students Preetam and Ganesh bagged the third prize respectively.
 
Vidyaniketan Pre University College students Siddi V Shetty and Karishma Salian bagged the first prize the cookery  competitions, while Vidhyaniketan Pre University College students Ada Anjum and Archana bagged the second and Shirva Hindu Pre university College students Akshata Kumari and Shamya Shetty bagged the third prize respectively.
 
Vidyaniketan group of education institutions correspondent K P Acharya, Manipal Welcome Group Hotel officer Satish Kumar and Chetana S Kumar  and P Valsaraj gave away  the prizes to the winners of various competitions.
