Margao, Dec 15: Chief minister Digamber Kamat stressed that some vital changes are needed in the state’s education system.
Kamat was speaking at the closing ceremony of the annual function of Samaj Seva Sangh and Mahila Nutan English High School, held in Margao.
Nowadays, most youths after completing their education, run after money shelving humanity and ethics. This is not good, he opined.
If the youth turn to humanitarian causes and ethics, then only can they become responsible citizens of India, Kamat added.
Rekha Phene, Ankush Gauns, Madhav Pandit, Maruti Mense, Aparna Vaze, Vijya Naik, and Nanda Haldankar, all retired teachers of the school, were felicitated by the chief minister.
Industrialist Datta Naik, Sitaram Tengse, and headmistress Mangala Karapurkar, were present on that dais.
