Bahrain, Dec 21: Bahrain Billawas Celebrated their 5th Annivarsary and first Gulf Billawas Samavesha on 19th December 2008, at Al Raja School Bahrain. More than 700 people were attended the function.
The Samavesha started at 3.00pm with Welcome Prayer, followed by Lighting the Lamp, by Suresh Poojary. The Seminar Presentation by Professor Thukaram and Dr. Ganesh Amin. They appreciated the way Bahrain Billawas doing Social and Cultural work for the Community. He appreciated the work of K.V. Amin, Then President of Billawas – Bahrain. Billawas are very hard working community, Koti Chennaya’s Blood is with all Billawa Community, and it is Progressing slowly and steadily.
The Sovenier “ Thudar ” was released by Navinchandra D. Suvarna, President of All India Billawa Association. In his speech he recalled the work done by Late Damodar. R. Suvarna, Kankanady Rampanna for their hard work to bring Billawa Community in Dakshina Kannada united.
Saritha Kirodian Presented Bharatha Nathya Dance. Indian Ambassador Balakrishna Shetty along with Guest Mukhaymantri Chandru, Halappa Minister for Food and Civil Supplies of Govt. of Karnataka arrived at 6 .30pm at Al Raja School and were given Purna Kumba Welcome by the Billawa Ladies and they were Escorted to Dias and felicitated with Shawal, flowers and memento’s.
Ambassador in his farewell speech said Indo Bahrain Relationship Date back Harappa Mohenjodaro time and today we see our Nation Progressing in a right spirit. Though Mumbai Terrorist attack made India shaky but the people of our Country have their solidarity towards the Nation. He was thanking each and everyone for their support during his 3 years tenure.
Mukkhyamantri Chandru spoke about the Culture of Dakshina Kannada specially Billawa Community for their hard work, Hallappa, Food and Civil Supplies Minister informed the audience that the Government of Karnataka will give land to have Koti Chennaya Cultural Premises in Dakshina Kannada, also plans to have Billawa Cultural Centers in Shimoga and Malennadu Areas.
On appeal from Naveenchandra D Suvarna and Suresh S Poojary to form a single federation for all individual sanghas within in Gulf, the billawas agreed to form Gulf Billawa Sangha as a federal organisation. Bahrain was given the Presidentship for Gulf Billawa sangha and Rajkumar was nominated as President.
UAE will hold the Vice Presidentship with joint holding by Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Ashok Anchan -President of Billawa Balaga Dubai and Billawara Balaga Abu Dhabi representative Manohar Tonse for vice president post.
Oman will hold the General Secretary Post with Ashoka suvarna saying that the candidature will be decided in Oman and Diwakar Poojary from Qatar was nominated as Joint Secretary.
B.K. Shivaram gave speech about Billawas and he was felicitated with with memento. Members of Billawa Community presented Tulu Drama Madime which was appreciated by the audience. Fusion Dance Hindi Filmi Dance Presented by Members Children.
Kannada Film Actors Vijaya Raghvendra, and Murlidaran Sang Kannada Songs was appreciated by the audience and they were also felicited with Shawal and Memento Tulunada Vaibhava Dance Drama Presented by Chandra Shekar Suvarna. The programme was compared by Kamalaksh Amin. And Reema Krishnappa Cine Artist of Kannada Movies.
