Ballari: Vijayanagar MLA Anand Singh may quit Congress

Daijiworld Media Network - Ballari (SP)

Ballari, Jan 2: Unconfirmed sources claim that Vijayanagar MLA, Anand Singh, who was tourism minister in BJP government in the state and had crossed over to Congress at the behest of Siddaramaiah, has decided to quit the party. The reason for his anger is said to be the denial of ministerial berth during the recent reshuffle of the state cabinet.

It may be recalled that Anand Singh had spent a day with union railway minister, Piush Goyal, during the latter's visit to Hampi recently. He had also met some RSS leaders at Udupi.

He was conspicuous by his absence at the felicitation for newly inducted minister, Sathish Jarkiholi and E Tukaram.

He is rumoured to be an associate of former minister, Ramesh Jarkiholi, who has an axe to grind against Congress leadership. He has of late been seen trying to get Nayaka community, which has sizeable presence in the constituency, to his side. This community has been normally associated with BJP and Anand Singh plans to fight with BJP ticket, sources say.
