Mangalore, Dec 23: A ten-year old boy was charred to death at about 3.45 pm at Ansari Road, Bunder here on Tuesday December 23.
 
Deceased was identified as Santhosh, son of Shiva Kumar and Chandravathi, basically from Kanathur, Kasargod.  Meanwhile, locals saved a four-year-old child Sindhu from the fire after she shouted for help.

According to the locals, there were two children inside the rental house when fire broke out and door was locked. It is said that tragedy occurred when Santhosh was trying to lit a kerosene lamp.

The family had settled at the rented house just three weeks ago. Shiva Kumar is a labourer at boat construction unit.

A complaint has been filed at Bunder police station in this regard.
