Not worthy of Nobel Peace Prize, says Imran Khan

Islamabad, Mar 4 (IANS): Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, addressing calls by his countrymen on social media and in his government to award him a Nobel Peace Prize for "de-escalating" tensions with India, on Monday said that he is not worthy of the honour.

"I am not worthy of the Nobel Peace Prize. The person worthy of this would be the one who solves the Kashmir dispute according to the wishes of the Kashmiri people and paves the way for peace and human development in the subcontinent," he tweeted.

Supporters and officials of Khan's administration started lobbying for a Nobel Peace Prize for him following his announcement to release Indian Air Force (IAF) officer Wing Commander Abhinandan who was captured by Pakistan on February 27 after his MiG-21 crashed inside Pakistani territory. He was released on March 1.

Soon after the Indian pilot was handed over to the Indian authorities, the hashtag "#NobelPeacePrizeForImranKhan" started trending in Pakistan on Twitter. Until Sunday, over 300,000 people had signed online petitions seeking the Nobel for Khan.

A resolution was also submitted in the country's National Assembly Secretariat last week for the same. The motion stated that Khan played a "sagacious role in reducing tension between Pakistan and India which was created due to warmongering attitude of the Indian leadership".

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Peoples Party, which had earlier questioned the timing of the release of the Indian pilot, expressed its sorrow over the ongoing campaign for the award.

Just when Imran was about to take his begging bowl, Iran has threatened of military action in Pakistan for breeding terror and sending them into their territory. Unlike India they are not into any dialouge or submitting a dossier with evidence. If they are fingered more they will jack the already bankrupt Pakistan in the right place. Wonder how people reccomended this PM of a terror breeding country for Nobel Peace Prize.

Imran Khan has built a world class cancer hospital in his mother's name where poor people are treated for free...and as such, he is more generous and magnanimous to his people, That shows his refinement, education, culture and upbringing which he tried to do even in his political career. If India has any hope of solving Kashmir issue and bringing peace in the valley, it can only be with him.

Ha Ha Ha. IK is now being abused and lashed by his own people for releasing Abhinandan. It was sheerly fright an international pressure. Its almost 6 days that Paki airspace is closed. Airports shut and black outs in cities of Pak. Use of generators too prohibited. The losses are mounting in crores, Fuel prices have been increased to meet the demand. Gen public is frustrated, an uprising is in the cards as well. Meanwhile on the borders today Iran has threatened Pakistan to reign in terrorists. Baloochistan too. I guess soon this IK may resign due to frustration.

Ask your modest educated PM of Pak to hand over Jaish leader Masood Azhar (who claimed responsibility for Pulwama attack) to India.

Do you think just for peace gesture Pakistan left Abhinandan? if so, you are number one educated fool. If at all they had kept Abhinandan for long time, Pak was sure of further escalation from Indian side. Pakistan is completely bankrupt at the moment and they cant afford a war at this time.

Don't see everything is political angle, have some common sense too.

How do you achieve peace by nurturing terrorism blatantly?

In words of Hillary Clinton, "You can't keep snakes in your backyard and expect them only to bite your neighbors. You know, eventually those snakes are going to turn on whoever has them in the backyard."

    Henry well said,

Pakistan had created this groups for their benefits, but now it has become difficult for Pakistan government to control these groups.

Political parties in India is also supporting some groups which have been created for their benefits. In future these political parties may not have control on these groups,

GOD forbids if these groups are not controlled now, then India might face the same situation as pakistan.
