Mangalore: British Deputy High Commissioner Sees Potential in City

Mangalore, Mar 26: Richard Hyde, British deputy high commissioner to Karnataka, visited the city and met officials of the deputy commissioner’s (DC) office on Wednesday March 25.
Speaking to media persons after the meeting, he said that the purpose of the visit is to explore business opportunities and cultural exchanges between the United Kingdom and the city. “The coastal region meets all requirements to establish information technology sector and special economic zone”, Hyde added.
He also visited northern cities of the state as the scope of work of the British deputy high commission has been extended to other cities of the state.
Hyde, who is also head of the British Trade Office in Hyderabad, said that the coastal city has been growing very fast and possible business exchange would create jobs. He added that greater co-ordination between India and UK is an essential factor for development activities in the state.
