Kuwait, Apr 6: The Kuwait Kerala Muslim Association (KKMA), the leading socio-cultural and welfare organization of Indian nationals in Kuwait launched its women’s wing IMLA (Indian Muslim Ladies Association) went with a variety of programs.
The event started with the recitation from Holy Quran by Muhsina Abdul Muneer. Nameera Isham, General Secretary of IMLA, welcomed the gathering.
The event was presided over by Arifa Abdul Fatah, President of IMLA. She outlined the vision and future plans of IMLA and urged the women to unite for good and actively participate in all its forthcoming socio cultural activities.
The chief guest Sridevi Pradeep (Principal of Indian Community School of Kuwait, Khaitan branch) launched the event and enlightened all parents by informing them that each child begins his/her lessons from the mother and brings up themselves by observing the path of their parents in every aspects.
Dr. Rooba Mosses (A well known gynecologist at German Clinic) gave her professional know-how to the attendees and advised how and when one seeks the help of a gynecologist.
Eby Jospeh, Executive Chef at Le Meridien launched the flyer of the forthcoming cooking contest of IMLA by delivering it over to KKMA chairman Sageer Trikarpur. Eby also briefed by giving tips about the method of judging the cookery show.
Grace Saju, winner of the last two cooking contest of KKMA, did a amazing job on how to cook and present the food which will be a challenge for all participants in the next contest. The show with fruits and vegetables was a new experience for the audience as Grace delighted the gathering and they applauded her performance and in appreciation, the chief guest of the program presented her with fantabulous gift.
Nasreen Siddique, IMLA’s Treasurer created different types of beautiful flowers draping various fabrics and she said one can indulge on this type of hobbies whenever there is spare time and ofcourse the flowers were good looking in colour and style.
Felicitations were given by Sageer Trikarpur (chairman, KKMA) and N.A. Muneer (president, KKMA).
IMLA’s tiny tots, Aftab Muhammad Thayyil, Rifa Hamza, Aani Fathima, Rasha Fathima, Ayisha Shahama, Aina Shahima entertained the guest with songs, short stories and group songs. Rasna Hamza gave a speech on modern media and Islam. Programme hosts Samah Sageer and Sana Siddique did their dedicated and excellent work till the end.
The event was concluded with the vote of thanks by Saneeba Abdul Gafoor, IMLA’s Secretary.
The Indian Muslim Ladies Association has been formed for the purpose of promoting and strengthening good fellowship among its members and campaign awareness about the fast changing scenario of the today’s world, also to encourage participation in the social and cultural activities of the Association.
The launching event, held within less than a month of its formation on 6th March 2009, was proved the capability of this group to conduct such colorful events efficiently in a short span of time.
