Goodinabali Welfare Association (GWA) Saudi Arabia, which has organized successful family gatherings in the past has the distinction of conducting professional  and entertaining gatherings, organized this year’s gathering event – BEARY CULTURAL FEST -  in a unique style with emphasis to Beary Culture  and traditions at UNITED BEACH CAMP, Al - JUBAIL , SAUDI ARABIA on  Friday, 10th April, 2009.  The event which drew a big enthusiast fans was a grand success thanks to the variety of the program. It was daylong event starting from 10.00 am in the morning to 9.00 pm in the evening.

Expatriate community from Goodinabali, a neighborhood in BC Road, have formed this socio –religious organization to serve in the cause of Allah for the religious and social welfare of the residents of Goodinabali in particular and community at large. Since its inception in 2003, the organization has earned good name for its concerted efforts in helping the poor and needy people of Goodinabali  and surrounding areas in various ways. The organization has extended rich financial and moral support in improving the amenities in the local Masjid, Madrasa and school.

The serene and salubrious beach camp area of  Al- Jubail provided a great environment to hold this spectacular event. The impressive  and spacious UNITED BEACH CAMP of Al- Jubail  was a perfect venue to host this weekend merry making  event.

The program began with the Qir’ath of Qari Jahfar Misbahi followed by  the translation in Beary Language  by  Qamarudeen.   GM Anwar Hussain, the president of the organization briefed the objectives of the organization and welcomed all. An ice breaking game and BEARY cultural quiz  conducted by Qamarudeen gave the audience occasion to remain on their toes  and  involve in the program actively, and gave room for interaction and enjoyment.

The cynosure of the day was the typical BEARY Bride groom reception show (SALAWAATI) and the typical olden day’s BEARY school  and adult education scene by the team lead by Abdul Jabbar  and Sulaiman GK. The audience was greatly enthralled by variety and the immaculate style with which  these  were presented. People were found reminiscing the past traditional life of Beary’s back home which have lost significance in the modern fast faceted life trends.

Melodious Beary songs and “KATHA PRASANGAM”  by Basheer Krishnapura and Farooque Krishnapura  added spice to the glamour of the day’s events. Beary ‘ CHUTUKU KAVI GOSHTI’  conducted by  Ibrahim Khader Koppa  and his team was a special attraction of the day which drew spectacular crowd response and applause.  Qamarudeen compeered the function of the day. GM Ameer and his team of volunteers facilitated the smooth conducting of the programs with able assistance.

Plenty of indoor and outdoor activities were held for children. “ DONKA” the traditional BEARY outdoor game was the main attraction among outdoor games as people were seen enthusiastically participating with a nostalgic feeling of childhood. Ladies had indoor and outdoor activities in a  separate enclosure. Sumptuous lunch and dinner were served along with snacks and tea both morning and evening.

Thanks to daijiworld for the good coverage. It is an obligation to fulfill actions of social service/justice in order to be considered a good Muslim. Social Service/Justice in Islam ranges from something as small as a smile, to picking up something harmful off a path, to being kind to family/neighbors to something more difficult as acquiring knowledge and teaching someone else. GWA, organizing gatherings to keep up the community close knit and united with an aim of philanthropic, social and education is appreciable. Only the thing is we should not cross the limit set by divine decrees. Duty towards Neighbors- "…And show kindness to…the neighbor who is your relative and the neighbor who is not your relative…" (Qura'n 4:36) GWA is doing something good. Keep up the good spirit organizers!

Mr Abdul Hameed Kulyar, your comments on Goodinabali only speaks of your jaundiced observation or lack of quality education and doesn’t reflect the actual picture . Perhaps, your dealings may have been with certain disgruntled elements of this area with whom you have rapport and on the basis of this you have generalized your view point. Black sheep are there in every community and area. Come out of your cocooned world view and see both sides of the coin, and learn to write comments. I am not sure to where KULYAR , your home place is situated. Please be aware that People of Goodinabali have always been known for organizing ‘ waaz ‘ and such other religious programs of grand nature right from days of 1960s. We have established School in Goodinabali way back in 1935 when no neigbouring locality had schools. Ask your edlers , if they are from the vicinity of Goodinabali, where they had their elementary education in those days of 1950s and 60s. Students of Goodinabali have reached state level in inter school games and sports successively many years. The Madrasa of Goodinabali is well known for sheltering scholarly and highly reputed religious teachers, thanks to which a lot of students from neighboring area always preferred to study in the Madrasa of Goodinabali. If you haven’t come across the educated and religious people of this area while passing through Goodinabali, it is your fault. Don’t generalize others from your kind of dealings. Ask Bearys of Dammam and Al- Jubail, you will know the stature of people of Goodinabali.

It was nice to read this article and see that this event was celebrated in the true BEARY traditional way keeping in line with the ISLAMIC values in tact. We have BCF here in UAE which is totally against the islamic framework and from no angle it can be said that this it is bearys cultural forum. I suppose the office bearers of UAE bearys should take a lesson from their saudi counterparts and do something more for our community back home and not just one agenda of EDUCATION for the whole year

Bearys were the most backward community, education and economy wise, not long ago.Let the new found richness benefit the community to eradicate religious backwardness and the wrong priorities of bearys lives.Muslims are being proud of Islam and if that is forgotton, we are doomed for ever.Nice to see Anwar Hussain, Ibrahim Tumbe,Shahul Hameed,Abdul Kareem and other friends in the Photo.

"Expatriate community from Goodinabali, a neighborhood in BC Road" Glad to hear that they are doing something productive. Back in India, Goodinabali is known for very poor/uneducated people who try to steal everything from passing-by trucks and other vehicles. Congratulations once again for the great work.
