Abu Dhabi, Apr 27: There is a saying – “for money, even the corpse will open the mouth”. This statement is particularly true in the present materialistic world where all the idealistic human qualities are being blown away for petty amount of money. People don’t hesitate even to commit heinous crimes for a few hundred bucks. But the story is different in the case of Mohammed Ali Ujire who is working for a very small salary for the last four years in Abu Dhabi. Recently he exhibited a finest human quality by returning a packet of bounty he found in a car park.
This happened last week, when Mohammed Ali was returning from his night duty he found a packet in the municipality car parking lot in Salam Street, Abu Dhabi. Naturally curious, he picked up the packet and was shocked to find a huge amount of Dhs.33, 000 (Indian Rupees around 450,000) in it. Looks like a fairy tale but true. The religious and ethical values in him did not allow him to think anything else. He immediately contacted the nearest Shabia police station and handed over this money to them, even before he reached his room. After two days Mohammed Ali received a call from the owner of this money conveying him that he got his money back and thanking him for his noblest and magnanimous gesture.
What makes Mohammed Ali’s action outstanding is the fact that he returned the huge money though he is getting a meager salary. When asked him wasn’t it a big money to get tempted, his reply was that even if it was a big money it is not halal (permitted) for him since it was neither earned by him nor received as a gift. He also mentioned that during the last four years of his working in Abu Dhabi, his total earning would not have been so much.
The Bearys Welfare Forum (BWF) Abu Dhabi, a community forum of Bearys to which community Mohammed Ali belongs, organized a felicitation programme on Friday April 24 to honour him. BWF proudly presented him “Certificate of Appreciation” and a token memento, pleased with the extraordinary character exhibited by one of its community brothers.
Bearys Welfare Forum wished him and his family a healthy and wealthy long life and prayed Almighty to bestow His choicest blessings on them.
