Sullia, Jun 4: Fight broke out between the management committee of Bellare mosque and SDPI activists on Monday June 3, after which both sides registered police complaints against each other.

On account of Ramzan, special namaz had been organized at the mosque. After the namaz, SDPI leader, Shaffi Bellare, rose to deliver a discourse. But the representatives of the mosque managing committee stopped him, duly reminding him that without prior permission, no activity could be held inside the mosque.

Angry words were exchanged between the two groups, one of SDPI activists led by Shaffi, and the other comprising mosque managing committee members. It is said that the two groups also fought with each other. Secretary of the mosque committee, Ibrahim, who got admitted into the hospital at Puttur, filed complaint against Shaffi Bellare, Iqbal Bellare, Muneer, Basheer, Ashraf, and Asheer. Shaffi Bellare and Iqbal Bellare registered counter complaint against Ibrahim, Abubakkar, Jamal K S, Azharuddin, Ummer, and Jamal Manimajalu.
