Bahrain : Kudlotsava 2009 'Boogie - Woogie' Dance Fiesta on May 22

Bahrain, May 21: The much awaited Kudlotsava 2009 Bahrain Boogie-Woogie Dance Fiesta stage event is round the corner! Boogie-Woogie Contestants exclusively from the State of Karnataka in India and residing in Bahrain, categorized in two age groups, 8 to 18years and from 18-plus years are brushing their dance skills in preparation for the big event which will take place at the Ramada Palace Hotel on Friday, 22nd May, 2009 from 8.00 p.m.
The Kudlotsava 2009 Sports and Cultural events are being organized in a month-long Agenda of programs this year organized by the MANGALORE CULTURAL & CHARITABLE ASSOCIATION, and is the brain child of Mr. Anand Lobo. The program is in association and with the support of various other organizations in Bahrain hailing from the Kudla belt as also well-wishers from Saudi Arabia. 22nd of May, will be the third weekend eventful day in the comprehensive package of Kudlotsava 2009, and the stage as well as the paraphernalia for it is being geared and set up in a unique way to the tastes of Kudlotsava.
Ajay Kumar, the 1st Secretary at the Indian Embassy, has kindly consented to be the Chief Guest.
In this Boogie Woogie Contest, the highlights and rules of Contest are as under:
Two age groups: (1) Children 8 to 18 yrs and (2) Adults 18 yrs and above
Each team comprising atleast four participants in the children’s group and atleast three participants in the adults group, gender optional.
Entry is free to participants and entrance to Boogie-Woogie Contest all complimentary.
Each Contest group will be given 3 minutes to set the stage and 8 minutes total time for the song. Each group will have to give three songs (original CDs) from which one will be selected by the organisers for the Contest. The group which decides on dancing the fusion number, choice factor is not applicable.
Being a family event, the participants should note that all aspects of the competition including song lyrics, costumes, dance and dress code decent and modest to avoid disqualification due foul language and indecency.
Contestants will have to report at 8.00 p.m at the Hotel premises and Judges decision will be final.

The main compere for the event is Mr. Anand Lobo, who with his expertise in compering programs, will spare no effort to make it an eventful day. The co-ordinators for the program are Ms. Chandrakala, Ms. Lolakshi Rajaram, Mr. Shankar Jathanna, Mr. Girish Iddya, Mr. Sayyed Hejmadi, Ms. Renuka Anchan and Ms. Hema Shivakumar.
