Daijiworld Media Network—Mangalore (RS/CN)

Mangalore, May 22: “I will work as representative of Mangalore constituency based on the ideologies of Hindutva,” asserted the newly elected BJP MP Nalin Kumar Kateel.

Kateel was acknowledging the felicitation extended to him by the party workers at Urva Store Maidan in the city on Friday. He said: “I have lot of responsibilities on my shoulders as a sincere worker of RSS. I will have to adhere to Hindutva, which is the soul of our nation.”

Kateel said that he will never compromise the basic principles and ideologies of BJP and reiterated that his political career will be based on Hindutva ideology. “ Many have criticised me for being an RSS man. A large number voters in the constituency have given a prompt reply to those who criticised me by chosing me as their representative. I am proud to be a sincere RSS worker and I will continue to be so in future too.”
Lauding the efforts of party workers who worked for his victory, Kateel said that he dedicates his victory to the party workers. “My victory was a direct result of nearly two-and-a-half month’s hard work of BJP workers,” he added.

He said that it was Sri Narayana Guru’s blessings which helped him to win from the constituency. “I had started my election campaign after offering prayers to Sri Narayana Guru, who advocated the philosophy of one caste, one religion and one God,” he said.

Kateel said that he would accept the felicitation offered by the party workers only after five years. “I will work for the people of the constituency sincerely and come back again to accept the honour after the completion of my five years term as MP,” he added.

BJP district President Monappa Bhandary presided over the programme while Mangalore South MLA N Yogish Bhat and MLC Capt Ganesh Karnik were present.

Victory celebrations

A victory celebration with colourful procession and a felicitation programme was organised to mark the triumph of  Kateel by the party workers prior to the felicitation programme in the City on Friday.

Speaking to mediapersons during the procession, Kateel said that it was a victory of the party workers. “I am bound to fulfil the aspirations of the people for the development of the region. I will strive for the development of the constituency as well as to keep my promises,” Kateel assured.

Party workers in large numbers took Nalin Kumar Kateel in a procession in an open vehicle from the BJP Office premises near Kodialbail to Urwa Store Maidan.

The procession led by party leaders including BJP district President Monappa Bhandary, Mangalore South MLA N Yogish Bhat, MLC Capt Ganesh Karnik and former MLA Padmanabha Kottari proceeded through Hampankatta, Kudroli and Lady Hill to reach Urwa Store Maidan.

One more thing. Many of these bloggers are not voters. First and foremost, you must clearly understand your voters and keep engaged with him throughout 5 years. Please satisfy them and bring more people to your votebank.Do not care for those passive people who brag in TVs and bark on the street like Renuka Chudhary.

Most of the BJP candidates who lost forgot this and were shy of their ideology because they wanted to appear the so called sickulars and lost. Probably you did not bother about you secular image and were honest in telling Hindus that you stand for Hindutva, whatever it means.

So people who found an honest and forthright person and voted. Keep these in mind. Keep doing good work, do not forget your basics, that is RSS.care a hoot for the sickularist. I am sure you will continue to be an MP for ever Best of Luck

Dear Mr. Nalin Kumar, whatever you do, do it within the parameter of Indian constitution everyone will appreciate your efforts. If you go beyond and indulge in any extra constitutional activities people of your constituency will not hesitate to condemn you, because people of your constituency are highly educated. You cannot fool any one these days. You must remember that you are the MP for all the citizens of your constituency whether those who voted for you or did not come out to vote or those voted against you. A good representative is the one who takes care of everyone and does not discriminate among the people. Hindutva does not mean that others should not live in the society peacefully. Every one must remember that we are all answerable for all our wrongdoings and appropriate punishment is awaited.

In English: Our Mangalore needs development more than furthering the Hindutva agenda. Leave alone religion, caste and creed and take Mangalore towards peace and prosperity. In the 5 years, make sure there are no bandhs and communal violence and be assured that not only Hindus but all will vote for you and re-elect you as an MP. If you are only seeking to further your Hindutva ideology, neither Mangalore nor yourself will prosper. God bless you

People who cribbed about Nalin being an RSS man and did not vote for him have no moral right to shout now. If he has won on Hindutva ideology (which people confirmed themselves!), he should implement what he stood for before the elections. Otherwise he will be cheating who voted for him. I hope people will have so much common sense to agree to this logic.

We are many families living in Vamanjor and many Schools and Universities are located in Vamanjor.

We will be eternally grateful if you would organise the removal or transfer of garbage which is piling up and causing illness/breathing problems to the residents of the locality. Our friends and children must walk through that road to School everyday and we their family cannot do anything about it. As long as people like Nalin Kumar keep harping about Hindutva, we can be assured that the BJP will never come to power at the centre. There is a need for a strong right of centre party and BJP can fill that space provided they shed their communal image which will no longer work, and get rid of the hate mongers like Modi''s, Sahu''s, Varun''s and the Togadias.

Karnataka politics is based on caste except for the coastal belt which has been polorized by the the upper caste RSS lobby. Yeddi is a strong lingayat leader and so the entire lingayat community has supported him and so did the vokkaligas who felt hurt by the sidelining of Mr S.M. Krishna their tallest leader. Earlier the congress treated Mr Veerandra Patil a popular lingayat leader very shabbily which is why the entire lingayat community deserted it.

Now that Mr Krishna is brought back into the cabinet, there will be a switch in the vokkaliga support for the congress. In the meantime the congress should make amends and groom and nurture a strong lingayat leader so that the support of that community is regained before the next assembly elections. As far as coastal Karnataka is concerned it will have to follow the national pattern sooner or later.

Dear Mr. Nalin Kumar Kateel, If only you knew what you say what Hindutwa means you would be honest enough to uphold it''s value. Though you are an Indian you do not know how to respect the Indianness if all of us who are born and bread in our Country which we love and want it to stand as an icon of harmony and developement and progress where all are equal and no one can impose one ideology over the other. no religion can be imposed over the other. no one can say my religion is better than yours and so i will suppress yours. we must respect and allow the other person to grow. all must get equal opportunity for education, and social equity.

Let us hope as you grow to be an old person your youthful audacity will mellowdown to wisdom which we possess as Indiana. our country has produced so many saints. you say you have taken the blessings of Narayan Guru you have no knowledge of this saint. he never popogated one religion againt the other. wish you all the best may God give you wisdom and hope of a better future. when you go for election in five years time you may be much more mellowed. hope you will win otherwise like Umabharati, Kalyansingh you will be side lined and thrown out of the party wish you all the best in union with the divine word, fr.juze vaz svd

Mr. Nalin Kumar please remember that in proper mangalore you have not won the election or the people have not fully voted in your favour (proper Mangalore was leading by 15,000 votes in favour of Congress)and also in Northern Mangalore (Congress was leading by 5,000 votes). It is only Sullia, Puttur, Moodbidri and Uppinangady where you got average 8,000 votes extra than the Congress. So please do not think that the Public is foolish enough. If you do not work for the betterment of the Public you will be rejected or dejected in the next election.

So please do not make religion your priority, work for the betterment and development and up-liftment of Mangalore and its surroundings and bring the peace of Mangalore back putting your RSS mantra in the back burner. Jai Hind.

"I want Mr.Nalim Kumar to explain me what is Hindu what is Hindutva and who is Hindu??" What I heard is INTRODUCTION TO HINDUISM: The most popular among the Aryan religions is Hinduism. ‘Hindu’ is actually a Persian word that stands for the inhabitants of the region beyond the Indus Valley. However, in common parlance, Hinduism is a blanket term for an assortment of religious beliefs, most of which are based on the Vedas, the Upanishads and the Bhagavad Gita. "Those whose intelligence has been stolen by material desires surrender unto demigods and follow the particular rules and regulations of worship according to their own natures." [Bhagavad Gita 7:20] The Gita states that people who are materialistic worship demigods i.e. ‘gods’ besides the True God. The following verses from the Upanishads refer to the Concept of God: "Ekam evadvitiyam" "He is One only without a second." [Chandogya Upanishad 6:2:1]1 "Na casya kascij janita na cadhipah." "Of Him there are neither parents nor lord." [Svetasvatara Upanishad 6:9]2 "Na tasya pratima asti" "There is no likeness of Him." [Svetasvatara Upanishad 4:19]3 The following verses from the Upanishad allude to the inability of man to imagine God in a particular form: "Na samdrse tisthati rupam asya, na caksusa pasyati kas canainam." "His form is not to be seen no one sees Him with the eye." [Svetasvatara Upanishad 4:20]4

I do not really know what his interpretation of Hindutva is as it can be used and misused based on circumstances. To a large extent BJP has managed to divide people on caste lines atleast in Karnataka. The fault also has to lie with the congress which failed to do much when they held power in the 70''s and eighties. By and large Dr Manhohan Singh has tried to work honestly in the past five years despite distractions from his colleagues. Now what Mr Kateel has to do is to learn a bit of English and Hindi so that he can open his mouth in the parliament (Others have to understand him) and try to do more in terms of development.

To be very honest Mangalore has not really been ignored with regard to big projects like MSEZ,PCPIR,Airport development etc over the past five years but sentiments of farmers and others have to be taken into account during land aquisitions. This is one of the things which Mr Kateel has to do rather than blindly ignoring industrial projects.

Transparency is the word here. But one thing is certain ,DK and Udupi are one of the most developed districts in the country with a high Human Index. Howerver no amount of deveopment can compensate for division in society on religious and caste lines. The BJP has to bear that in mind. Otherwise they are certain to be extinct before the next election.

Nalin Kumar! Congratulations on winning the elections. Please work for the welfare of the people. you have every right to have your own ideology but please do not bring Hindutva or any other religion in the task assigned by the people to you. Think about the welfare of all the people and then work rather than upholding welfare of one community. If you work in this manner you will greet success ahead of you.

Nalin Kumar Kateel is sending the message that he won due to his Hindutwa slogan. When he does not understand what is Hinduism, how can he define Hindutva. If he referes to the holy scriptures of Hindutva, he will come to know that he is far away from basic teachings of the religion. If he thinks that hating other religuous people is Hindutva then he will take India backward.Justice and peace for all is the foundation of Hinduism. If Nalin Kumar understand the constituion of India he would have told that he respects every one and will be good to all in his capacity as MP of India.By the way does he understand Hindi or English to take up any issiues in Parliament. Any how he has not much role to play as an Opposition MP.We have to watch how he is going to spend his 5 crore money granted to MPs.

Congratulations to Mr. Nalin Kumar ( MP ), As a Former dedicated RSS as well as BJP worker, am very happy for the Victory of BJP in the state. But a humble request not to focus too much on Hinduism, for that there is lot of other organizations to bring awareness to Hindus about our religion/culture. Let BJP focus more on the developments in DK as well as Karnataka. Please don’t make the Non-Hindus feel insecured by any of your acts or deeds.

Nalin Kumar Kateel should know he represents all Mangaloriens and concentrate on developmental works rather than harping on hinduthva. He should also nknown that more than 50% voters have rejected him by voting to other parties. Janardhan Poojary (INC)4,58,965

That’s all you can Say & Do which is not good. If so you make your followers to regret for electing you. If you concentrate towards basic needs such as *Good Roads * Water facility * Proper infrastructure *Unity among all religions * Peace & prosperity in our city – Your supporters will be proud & next election you will win with double than present votes including Hindu Muslim Christian. If not all yr present friends will leave you apart. Congratulations & All The BEST.

Nalin Kumar! Congrats for winning the elections but please clarify what is Hindutva? If you believe in Narayan Guru''s teachings One GOD AND ONE RELIGION then Hindutva do not exist. Just focus on the devlopment of the region and be model MP rather than focusing on Hindutva.
