Mangalore, Jun 3: The city of late, is earning the dubious distinction of being a battle ground of criminals. The citizens seem to have come to accept the murders, which occur almost every week with alarming regularity, as a way of life. Bloodshed, murder and usage of lethal weapons seem to have become the order of the day. It may be recalled, that a shop keeper named Chetan Shetty had been killed in the city last week. There is a possibility that some miscreants might be trying to encash the incidents of communal tensions that have been occurring in the district now and then, even though murders have also taken place for frivolous reasons like argument over property sharing, disobeying wife etc.
A person was found murdered near the railway Goods Shed near Bunder in the city, late night on Tuesday, Jun 2.
The dead body of the man was found with visible injuries, leading the policemen to conclude it to be a case of murder. The police officials confirmed that the man was murdered by using boulders to crush his face, before dumping his body at the above spot.
