Mangalore, Jun 6:  K C Naik, founder secretary of the city chapter of the Confederation of Real Estate developers Association(CREDAI) was installed as its  president for the period 2009-2011, at the installation ceremony held here on Friday, June 05.

Speaking after being chosen to head this reputed organization, K C Naik said, the building of apartments and houses  that are people-friendly, customer-friendly, as per the needs and within the budget of the clients is the greatest challenge the members of the CRDAI face. Going by the new comprehensive development plan of the city, the CREDAI has a great role and responsibility before it to develop the city as per the plan and stand up to the expectations of the people and administrators. He also said that he proposes to address concerns over the infrastructure needs that should match the speed of development, by holding regular meetings with local authorities.

Ramani Shastri, past national president of CREDAI installed president K C Naik and his team formally, at a ceremony held at Hotel Taj Gateway in the city.

Speaking on the occasion, Ramani Shastri said, CREDAI has much more challenges and tasks before it to be achieved in future. The organization will grow into an association of people that is capable of dealing with all the aspects of real estate sector, he said.

Kumar Gera, chairman, national president of CREDAI said, the real estate field is facing innumerable problems of late, due to the ill-affects of the recent economic downslide. But the builders are taking it as a challenge and continuing with their business with hope. The real estate business in recent years, has got wide coverage even from a section of the media, because every one is convinced of  its importance, he said.

He further said that the CREDAI is a mission with vision which is going to deal with the technical problems with the government, like the Coastal  Regulation Zone, Environment Impact Assessment, monetary policies of Reserve Bank, stamp duties etc.

Raj Menda, president of CREDAI- Karnataka said, CREDAI will implement a plan through its members, to plant one tree for every individual apartment in the apartment blocks they build.  He also added that the association will set up a grievance redressal committee to hear the grievances of the clients of all the chapters in the state.

Irfan Razak, vice-president, CREDAI- National, said that the challenge before the builders is to build affordable buildings  besides low cost  houses. Indian cities suffer from lack of proper infrastructure and therefore, building of  houses and developing of the real estate under these circumstances becomes a formidable task, he pointed out.

A Balakrishna Hegde, immediate past president of CREDAI- Karnataka, in his keynote address said, the Association will have five chapters in the  state and that  Udupi, Hubli, Dharawad and Belgaum chapters will be started soon.
