Karkala, Jun 10:
Ramesh, an aspiring electrical engineer who had made news recently by creating a model of a voice-based apparatus to rescue a baby which might fall in a borewell, seeks placement in reputed companies in order to explore his talents.

He is a final-year degree student in electrical and electronics studying at the S N M Polytechnic, here.  He has also invented an electrical apparatus to generate electricity that could be fitted in a corner below the humps on busy road.  The vibrations will transform the energy through the apparatus.

Ramesh has also displayed his unique skills in joining matchsticks in various forms that display his artistic skills and imagination.

Ramesh recently held an exhibition of his artistic works using match sticks at Shree College here, recently.

His works such as replicas of the Taj Mahal, truck, ‘Shiva Linga’, bullock-cart, temple, ‘mantap’, and the like have gained much appreciation from the viewers across the taluk.

He has skillfully and artistically drawn gold jewellery by just joining matchsticks.  He is a multi-talented person who acknowledges the support of his head of the department Davalakirti and lecturers in his faculty in his endeavour.

Rescue Apparatus:

The apparatus to rescue children from borewells is fitted with sensors that pin point the location and depth of the trapped child. It’s easier for fire fighters to lift out the child unharmed and fast.

It was due to his innovations to ease daily hardships that several reputed companies including Kirloskar and L & T expressed their interest in employing him.

His colleagues Rakesh Pinto, Rajesh Kumar, Ranjit Shetty and others assisted him in his invention of the electrical apparatus to generate energy from the vibrations of road humps.

It’s a viable venture that was tested and found to generate 12 volts of electricity and similar such large apparatus can generate more volumes of power during a time when hydrocarbon reserves are being depleted and the cost of generating hydel and thermal energy is high.
