A proposal worth 298 crore to construct 45-km-long protection wall and repair works to 25-km-long old protection wall has been placed before the centre, he added.

He further assured that permanent works to control sea erosion will be undertaken well before rainy season next year in joint opearation by centre and the state government. Kaup MLA Lalaji Mendon speaking on the occasion said that the first phase of the construction of the temporary protection wall has already begun in Padukere and a proposal to undertake works in the 500-metre area in the region has been submitted to the government, he said.

Dear Yeddi, please first secure our borders. You have lots of funds for non constructive purpose, please release more funds for securing sea erosion, just two crores will not help and with the magnitude of corruption in the system, hardly 25 lakhs will be spent on actual work and rest is maha panga naama - swaaha....guloom.
