Beltangady: Devotees in Thousands Pay Last Respect to Kanyady Swamiji

Beltangady, Jul 19: The last rites of deceased Sri Atmanand Saraswati Swamiji of Kanyadi, who had contributed significantly for the progress of Sri Rama Kshetra, here was held on Sunday July 19 afternoon. The pyre was erected at a spot near Sri Nityanand Mandir as pr wishes of Kanyadi Swami. The Vedic rites during funeral were performed under the leadership of Janardhan Shanti.
The mortal remains of Swami Atmanand were placed for public viewing at Gurudev Ashram till Sunday afternoon and later was carried in a procession to Sri Rama Mandir by a large number of devotees. A motorcade of thousands of devotees took part in the final journey of Kanyadi Swamiji.
Seers Ediga Maraiah Swami, Dharmapalanath Swami of Adichunchanagiri branch mutt,Rajayogi Ramanand Swami of Kolya, Satyanarayan Swami of Shivagiri Mutt, Vikyatanand Swami of Balyottu and Brahmanand Swami of Kanyady too paid their last respects.
Minister for food and civil supplies Hartalu Halappa paid the last tributes on behalf of state administration. Beltangady MLA Vasant Bangera, Sagar MLA Beloor Gopalakrishna, MLC Kota Srinivas Poojary, former union minister Janardhan Poojary, former state minister Vinaykumar Sorake, former MLA Prabhakar Bangera, Shivanand Naik Bhatkal, Rukmayya Poojary from BJP and Harikrishna Bantwal from Congress too were among who paid their last respect to the seer.
