Media Release

Karkala, Oct 11: The department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering in association with 'Unnat Bharat Abhiyan unit' of NMAM Institute of Technology recently celebrated the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi by participating in 'Gandhi Global Solar Yatra' and by organizing a 'Solar Student Ambassador workshop 2019'.
The main purpose of the workshop was to bring awareness of renewable resources and utilize them to meet our necessity in the form of solar-based lamps. The workshop began with an introduction to renewable resources and their utilization in different forms to meet our daily demands.

The workshop trained students to assemble the solar lamp. This motivated students to build their own solar lamp which they could use regularly. About 50 students from the second, third and final year BE course participated in this workshop which concluded with the students' pledge on 'non-violence to the environment and promote the solar lights'.

Dr Anitha Marina Colaco, associate professor and Aparna Palimaru, assistant professor in the department of Electrical and Electronics coordinated the workshop.
