RSS affiliated NGO will hold 15-day camp for MPs to learn Sanskrit

New Delhi, Oct 17: An RSS affiliate has recommended teaching Sanskrit to the Members of Parliament to promote the ancient language of India. The Samskrita Bharati intends to have a 15-day camp for the MPs during the Winter Session of Parliament in New Delhi.

The organisation already approached Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla for his permission to organise the camp.

“We had a word with the Speaker and he has suggested making a daily one-hour training programme for MPs. We will speak to Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Prahlad Joshi to work out the modalities,” said Dinesh Kamat, all-India convener, Samskrita Bharati.

Kamat claims that he wants at least 30-40 MPs to learn the language in the first batch.

The camp aims to make MPs fluent in Sanskrit so that they can use it in their daily conversations and thereby promote its growth.

Along with classes, two manuals will be distributed to the MPs for memorising and learning the language.

Samskrita Bharati is an RSS-backed NGO which has over 4,500 centres across 19 countries.

Sanskrit and southern languages have no link. RSS should not foist North based language and culture in South India. BJP's chela in D.K / Karnataka should prioritize and promote Tulu and/or Kannada.

First let them think about having a State language. In the world only India may be not having official state language. Politicians are diverting their mind towards some non essential issues than peoples prosperity and living conditions.

    Why?
Are they all planning to go to Mattur ???
By the way, Mattur (or Mathur) is a village in Shivamogga district in Karnataka state, India, known for the usage of Sanskrit for day-to-day communication.

"[15-day camp] aims to make MPs fluent in Sanskrit so that they can use it in their daily conversations..."

That would be amazing! Attend a language camp for 15 days, and become fluent enough for daily conversations!

If there is any truth in the man's claim, I guess, India can close all the schools, and provide such camps, once every 5 years, to the students to learn any language they want.

Sanskrit is a beautiful language, always good to learn this if we are Indians because it belongs to us and our ancestors developmed this language,

I know we live in a world where everybody likes imported stuff and lifestyle and everything, even I am writing in a imported language to my fellow local countryman, food for thought folks!!

So in such world its better to go back and learn which is completely ours make sense

You learn and wear whatever you eat but don't force on others. As asked by Kamal Hassan Tamil is one of the oldest language why don't study Tamil.

Better to give some training to talk to this MP's. and train them about their work. Politicians are thinking they great people but actually they are the servants of the people.
